Introduction
1. Welcome to your Twine tutorial!
The following guide will show you how to write an interactive story with Twine. The complexity builds up as you progress further. Eventually, you'll be able to add more and more fancy effects into your interactive stories, even if you have no programming experience.
At the end of the guide, there is an Overview for a clear summary of all the information.
2. Try out a sample story
Download a sample story to play through a Twine file that incorporates all the functionality explained in the following guides.
Play through the file twice, making different choices to experience what possibilities you have with using Twine. Some of the possibilities might not seem apparent at first, like using variables to show the reader different information in the same passage, based on their decisions. You will get to know those cool elements in this guide.
Right click on the following link and choose to "Save link as" to download the HTML file: Download the story.
Open the downloaded HTML-file, and it will open in your browser.
